Job Description

The primary role of the DBA II is to deploy and maintain the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the data and related SQL platforms for the 1st Global enterprise infrastructure. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to having a strong understanding or SQL security, metrics and performance tuning, performing routine problem identification and resolution and identifying and executing SQL systems data security standards as directed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Monitor, track, respond, troubleshoot and resolve all SQL related platforms and issues.
• Ensure all SQL related hardware and software are performing optimally and secured using the best practices for those systems.
• Respond to and resolve support requests from the business or development teams.
• Document requests in a timely manner
• Look for and identify opportunities to reduce the support needs to the business by providing them increased ability to self-support whenever possible.
• Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems. Create and maintain database documentation process. Including job scheduling and systems configuration specifications
• Where appropriate, collaborate with and support Technology Services security initiatives, adhering to security related processes and policies and supporting audit related requests for information and ad-hoc information requests submitted by the Security Manager.
• Assist with the maintenance of data warehouses from which report interfaces will extract for use by internal and external customers

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of computer science or equivalent experience with certifications.
• 4 years’ experience in a DBA role required.
• Ability to work non-standard hours as needed to perform system upgrades, maintenance and changes
• Experience with Windows Server Operating System 2008 and higher
• Project Management experience
• Strong knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws related to enterprise data security.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong customer focus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years’ experience with .NET framework, XML, Windows Operating System.
• 4 + years’ experience with SQL Server 2008 and above including Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• 4 +years working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers.
• 3+ years hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
• 3+ years’ experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
