Job Description

The role of the Manager of Software Development is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of a Micro services and/or database architecture as well as maintaining, supporting, and upgrading our existing systems to support future growth. The will also collaborate with team leaders to identify staffing needs and assign software development team members to meet those needs. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the creation of some deliverables to ensure the timely delivery of projects as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for construction and delivery of team deliverables as needed for software development. 
• Manage and lead complex software development program including definition of project scope, design and development, implementation schedules, risk mitigation efforts, and control processes. Enforce adherence to timelines, software development standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Provide technical subject matter expertise and leadership to architecture and development teams to develop technology road maps, select new technology products and create policies/procedures related to software development.
• Perform HR related leadership activities including 1:1s with team members, annual reviews, creating and monitoring personal goal plans and compensation discussions.
• Identify, develop and implement quality assessment and performance improvements tools and methodologies to insure a positive impact on the department’s performance of services.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successful perform the essential functions of the job. Master’s degree is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

Series 99 (or willingness to obtain within 90 calendar days)

Minimum Specific Experience Required:

• 7+ years direct experience in database/software development and/or programming design and systems management.
• 2+ years of professional experience developing distributed, scalable enterprise-class applications using Microsoft Technologies.
• At least 1+ years’ experience in planning, implementing, and certifying Production changes.
• 2+ years experience in managing a software development team.
• 2+ years experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Detailed exposure to software architecture including services oriented architecture and database architecture; object oriented analysis and design; Proven use of enterprise technologies to design and develop highly scalable n-tier enterprise software. 
• Solid management of multidisciplinary software development team(s) in the design and development of highly scalable and highly available online transaction processing software systems, data warehouse platforms and business intelligence applications (specific areas to be determined by the area of management).
• Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Clients and Architects to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive technical designs.
• Strong Experience with C#/SQL/MVC/REST/SOAP.
