Job Description

The Wealth Management Consultant will provide coaching and consulting advice to 1st Global advisors via phone, e-mail, and in person. The primary function of the Consultant is to provide sales support by evaluating a client's current financial situation to identify areas for improvement. This involves analysis of investments, insurance, annuities, alternative investments, retirement plans, as well as providing client specific recommendations while applying a comprehensive financial planning approach.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• The Wealth Management Consultant will provide coaching and consulting advice to 1st Global advisors over the phone. The primary function of the Consultant is to provide sales support by evaluating a client's current financial situation to identify areas for improvement.

• The Consultant develops rapport with the advisors in his/her region to proactively engage them over the telephone and in person, when the opportunity presents, in order to develop sales opportunities, including uncovering the next opportunity for a client solution on investment, estate planning, insurance and retirement planning issues.

• The Consultant will be the owner of one or more products/strategies that they will need to educate the team while keeping up-to-date with the latest changes for these products/strategies

• The Consultant performs research on a wide variety of investment and insurance-related products while staying abreast of product changes and new product introductions.

• The Consultant will provide analysis of financial planning, investments, insurance, annuities and alternative investments, as well as providing client specific recommendations while applying a comprehensive financial planning approach. These materials and coaching should provide the advisor with sufficient preparation to present to the end client.

• The Consultant will make presentations to advisors, fellow employees, as well as Wealth Management Consulting teammates for the purpose of education.

Dimensions/Scope Data:

  • Drive growth and implementation of investment assets.
  • Drive growth and implementation of insurance, annuities and direct participation products.
  • Strengthen existing and build new relationships with advisors, to educate and assist in the implementation of all financial planning solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Active Series 7 & 66 are required.
  • General Lines Agent; life, accident, health/HMO preferred
  • CFP a plus, or begin working towards this designation after hire
  • Broad based knowledge of financial planning concepts
  • Excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information at a level appropriate for the intended audience
  • Relationship focused - proven track record of stakeholder management, both internally and with clients
  • Detail oriented, ability to provide analysis on investments, insurance, annuities and distribution planning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 10% travel required
